I bought this device to replace a similar, but cheaper adapter that was suffering from noise from the car USB power (especially when the phone was charging or communicating wirelessly). The difference was very clear.
I noticed the iPhone “reduce loud sounds” option was limiting the output volume to about 50%, which was also part of the reason the old adapter I had was so noisy. Disabling that option and setting the volume on the phone to maximum further helps with sound quality.
This adapter is very compact and looks stylish. The fit in the USB socket is solid.
I have a minor issue where sound will drop for a fraction of a second. This might be related to surrounding radio conditions as it seems to be a momentary bluetooth signal drop. It doesn’t always happen, but it’s regular enough to notice, but not frequent enough to bother me too much.
